Unfortunately, this is true. I have known people who are violently opposed to abortion or birth control, but are proponents of the death penalty. It does appear to be an oxymoron, and those who have those inconsistent beliefs could be called hypocrites. But my intent is not name calling. I just wish those pro-lifers would get their heads on straight. People who take another person's life have committed a terrible crime against society. But we have progressed from the Biblical eye-for-an-eye. Supposedly, we are more civilized now. Life imprisonment for Murder 1 is preferable to the gas chamber. Let the Lord be the judge. Life is life, whether it is in the womb or on death row.

NO. It is possible to be anti-abortion and for the death penalty, but it is not possible to be pro life and for the death penalty. To be pro life is to believe that all human life has dignity and worth in the eyes of God, and that includes unborn babies, convicted criminals - even terrorists. It is a tough thing to accept - but, if you are a Christian you know that all human life was created in God's image and likeness and thus, has inherent worth and dignity. It is not up to us to determine who lives and who dies - only God can do that.

People I know that fit into both categories say that people who are given the death penalty deserve to die, but unborn babies who have done nothing wrong, don't. So they're not really pro-everyone's-lives, they're just pro-innocent-babies-lives.

Pro life is primarily used when talking about abortions, not executing criminals. So technically, yes.

No, a living person is a living person.
The pro-lifers should not choose if a criminal should live or die.
That is for God to decide.

No. Once you start making exceptions, you're no longer pro-life.
