Trout will eart two things that most people have around the house. One is cheese and the second - believe it or not is bacon.

They will eat many things, corn, cheese, worms, insects, bits of fish from your freezer. But without the proper setting in which they can get comfortable and the proper water quality essentials they may never eat at all. Also, the question is, do you want to keep them healthy? If so, then I'd suggest investing about $25.00 in 50 pounds of the appropriate pellet size of Purina Trout Chow or similar carnivorous fish foods, available at most farm feed supply stores. You can buy smaller amounts of Koi food at pet and garden shops and this would be fine too but is much more expensive.

What is the scenario? Are you talking about going fishing? Or are you actually keeping some species of Trout in an aquarium? What species is it?
