take 34/2 = 17
if the difference between the two numbers is 6, then you add 3 to 17 and subtract 3 from 17 (so that the diff b/n the numbers is 6, so 3 each way).
so 17 + 3 = 20
and 17 - 3 = 14

20 + 14 = 34!!!
