I have noticed many questions lately about Muslims being a threat to the safety of United States. Do you hate all Muslims for a radical few? Wouldn't that be like kicking all Christians out of the country because of the radical right-wings that blow up abortion clinics and kill doctors and nurses, or disbanding the Catholic religion for the safety of children because of few incidences of child molestation?

It is the politicization of religion that is the problem. Religion should never be in control of a society, for that is a deadly mix. For example, which religion is the right religion. All thoughts of freedom and liberty go away when this happens.

Do not get me wrong, when a nation loses its spiritual heritage, it is on the path to fail. However, religion should always be a personal issue.

Do I hate all Muslims because of a radical few--no. But how do I know which Muslims ARE the radical few and which are the normal ones? Should I just sit passively by on a plane, for instance, and assume that those Muslims over there are the normal kind? That's what they did on 9/11 and it didn't work out too well. Unfortunately, we all have to suffer because of those "radical few." It happens all the time. We have to stop at traffic lights because a "radical few" will go right through them without slowing down and kill somebody. All priests are suspect now because of the "radical few." And Muslims are going to be suspect and profiled for the foreseeable future because of those "radical few." I'm sure most of them realize we are protecting them as well as ourselves from those "radical few" that none of us wants to come in contact with, including the normal Muslims.

People wouldn't demonize Muslims and Islam if the religion had leaders that would stand up and denounce the terrorism repeatedly orchestrated by people within their own religion. These failures allow people of other faiths throughout the world to feel as if everyone who is Muslim and within the Islam religion to be complacent with terrorizing the rest of the world. Other religions have main figure-heads who speak out on behalf of many and there message is one of peace, but the many Imams and other leaders never seem to denounce terrorists’ activities and most of the time we hear about them taking refuge within mosques.
If enough people in the world of the Islam faith would stand up consistently and repeatedly express that the views of terrorists are distorting the teaching of the Quran, then eventually people would be less likely to follow in their footsteps and people like Osama would be nothing more than raving old fools.

VERY good points--but people who choose to label all Muslims terrorists don't do so because they don't know better. They do so because they believe people who don't subscribe to their own beliefs are in the wrong, and so deserve to be hated.

In other words, they are bigots. And very, very afraid of anyone or anything who is different from themselves. Fear makes people lash out, and seek to destroy the thing they fear. I wish your logic was as clear to them as it is to me.
