Don't get in a hurry. Enough time will pass that forgiveness will be easier. It took me thirty years to forgive my father for what he did to me as a kid. But eventually it comes to the point that the abuse, and the baggage you carry around as a result, just ain't worth the effort anymore.

Forgive others so that the Lord can forgive you as well.

Even the ones who do the worst things in the world. Just remember that there is only one judge and we will all be judged accordingly.

Forgive too so that your heart can be at peace. Time does heal all wounds eventually. Just give it time.

Of course there are unforgivable things in the world. If you don't want to, or can't, forgive someone for things they've done to you, no one is twisting your arm.

I'd say yes you should forgive them, but you don't have to forget. I think forgiveness makes life easier to go on with. You don't have to do it for them, do it for yourself. It's easier to sleep at night that way.

If you believe in God then it says in the Lord's prayer forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Pray. Hate the sin, not the sinner.
