Take it up with your Mom. If she decides on how you are to be disciplined, then she should also decide who does the disciplining.

If you deliberately do something you know you are not allowed to do, and are snide and sarcastic about it, I'd definitely let you know I wasn't pleased with you either.

I have always believed that the punishment should fit the crime. If you mouth off to your Mom and Step-Dad, then you should have your mouth washed out with soap. If you're bigger than your Mom then there is no reason why your Step-Dad can not do this with your Mom's supervision.

If you physically attack your Mom, than darn straight that you deserve a whupping from your Step-Dad, and just be thankful that they didn't kick you out of the house!

As you get older, you have to take responsibility for your actions. That means that you have to cultivate the self-discipline necessary to live in harmony in your home environment. You have no right to make your home a battleground no matter how you may feel.

If your situation at home is really bad (with your stepdad hitting you for no reason all the time) then petition the court to become an "Emancipated Minor", and you can be responsible for yourself. Be aware, though, that if you go this route, you will probably alienate yourself from your Mom for a good many years.

adults shouldn't hit kids(in my opinions). that is considered child abuse in the U S of A. But the next time your mom taps your shoulder, don't call 911 to send her to jail!! Your stepdad, is not your REAL dad. I would try saying "[Insert stepfather's name here}, I don't think you have the right to hit me. Please don't take it the wrong way". Depending on how old you r(if u r a little kid he will not listen) he may listen.

yes he can if he is the father figure within the home. Advice, stop doing whatever it is that is getting you hit.
Note to people that says you can't hit a child, where in the law does it say you can't hit a child, no where. That is why kids are out of control now their parents try to be their friends instead of their parent.

The answer is 100% absolutely not. I speak from experience growing up from age 5 to 17 with that crap. Tell someone and have it stopped. Good people to tell include school counselors, police, Doctors etc....and one more thing,,,,,Don't ever feel like what he's doing to you is your fault, because its not. Wow, took me almost 27 years to write that sentence....Its not your fault.

No he shouldn't. Violence leads to more violence and that's something we have an abundance of these days. I think it's rather cowardly to hit someone who's in one way or another dependent on you anyway. What does your mother say about this?

He can but he should not. I don't agree with solving problems with violence, but I imagine that you know whether or not he has crossed the line into abuse. If he has, go to the local police station and file a report.

Not without getting in some trouble. If that happens call the cops and put the guy in jail.

In Britain, biological parents can't even hit you, so that would be a no.

No one should ever hit you. I suggest contacting your local police department if he hits you.
