your device driver's for the web-cam are conflicting with another device did you update any programs last night? If so that is your problem you will need to uninstall the web-cam drivers download the newest versions from the website of the hard ware maker then install the new drivers, if the problem is in your software.

the other 2 things it could be are #1 a broken web-cam or #2 a failing port on your computer's motherboard, If problem #1 is true, to fix the first problem you will need to replace the camera. To fix problem #2 buy a new computer it'll be cheaper than getting the port redone.

Try unplugging and replugging your device into its port. If this doesn't work try a different port, assuming that the web cam is USB.

If this does not work just install the software from the "Control Panel", then reinstall the entire thing from scratch.
If the problem still persists then I would say it is the web cam that is having a hardware failure.

easiest thing to try: Unplug the web cam. Plug it back in and see if the computer finds it now. You could try rebooting before plugging the web cam back in to be sure.
