any drug ends with suffix -sartan is a angiotensin II receptor blocker, which prevents the action of the powerful vasoconstrictor enzyme:angiotensin II , those -sartans work as ACEI and more better because they don't cause some side effects caused by ACEI(angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors) like dry cough.
