Can I put an AVI file larger than 700 MB onto a 700 MB CD?

Question

This is a video file that's about 748 MB. Is it possible to be burnt onto a CD instead of a DVD and work the same? Is there a way to compress it or something just so it fits?

Nero burning software may be able to compress it for you. But in general, 748 MB will not fit on 700 MB CD if left unaltered.

You won't be able to fit the file onto the cd without deteriorating the quality of the file. You're better off putting on a dvd to preserve it's true quality.
