If my girlfriend just missed her period and if she turns out to be pregant, does a pill exists that she could take to abort the child?

ps. At 1 month their is only an embro, what makes it any diffrent from taking birth controll pill or a condom. Isn't it still life prevention? @ the people saying murder. Plus no child of mine shall suffer and i will be capable in a year or two to take care of a child but now is a bad time

yes there is but you should know that it is not without some serious consequences. The article I read says that 4 women in California died of toxic shock syndrome after taking this pill. Her case might be different but that is a big chance to take because you are scared. Talk over your options with a health care professional before you make any hasty decisions.

The short answer to your question is yes, there is a pill your girlfriend could take to abort the baby. Its RU-486. There are risks associated with it and it is considered an abortion. She should speak with her physician or family planning clinic. It is FDA approved to terminate a pregnancy 49 days or less along.
To expand a little bit, maybe you should talk to your girlfriend. Its obvious you don't want her to have this baby, but it is her choice, not yours. If you care about her, don't pressure her to do what you want her to do. Bottom line is this is a decision she will have to live the rest of her life with and she needs to make this decision for herself, not for you or your selfish desire not to support or be a father to a child. Also, a family planning clinic could give the two of you information on what your other options are as well as information on birth control that may be more reliable than what you are currently using.

y would u want 2 kill an innocent life? u should have been protected and not gotten her pregnant in the first place....u should think about the consequences of the pill and killing the unborn child b4 u actually take action, but reading every1 elses answers, i suppose there is but make sure ur girlfriend knows the consequences b4 u just say "here take this, it will get rid of the baby"

if murder is your cup of tea, yes. There is a pill that causes her to abort the baby. Up until 7-9 weeks. Its painful, causes severe cramping and you bleed quite a bit, but it does exist.
The question should be, is there a pill a child can take that gets rid of retarded parents who made it without thinking of its needs.

let me see,...... a pill that kills??? what a terrible thought.. Maybe there should be a pill that makes you stop and think before you mess up your life....I like that one better..
All kidding aside, I know of a pill that kills the day after,but I think a month later is a little to late , and MURDER is something you carry with you to your grave, even if it is a secret, YOU KNOW about it...THINK

birth control is life prevention but abortion is life killing. an embreo is alive. don't be selfish by saying nows not a good time. besides it's whatever your girlfriend wants.

if you aren't ready then you should not have sex. and how incredibly pathetic of you to ask this question. if she is pregnant and does not want the baby that is one thing, but you should not ask her to abort this baby. this is her choice. i think you should learn of birth control!
