Even though nosy neighbors can be a pain in the butt sometimes,they may just help you out someday.People who seem to know all about their neighbors business are also the first to know if there is something wrong.My niece who has MS fell out of her wheelchair one day.If it hadn't have been for her "nosy" neighbor who realized something must be wrong because she hadn't seen her sitting on her porch that morning,who knows how long she would have been on the floor before someone found her,probably days.

Because they are nosey. I live amongst a bunch of old retired people who have nothing better to do than watch what I do, when I come and go and what I take out of my house or bring into it. This is how bad it is. I have a remote starter on my truck so in the winter, I stand in my warm hooch and start my truck so that it is warm and toasty when I have to leave. When I use the starter, the fogger lights come on. One old nosey bat actually called me to tell me that the little yellow lights on my truck were on. I had to explain the remote starter thing to her and told her I was on my way to work. I don't let the nosiness bother me because I care less what these people think of me. I do have to resist the temptation to really give them something to look at like sunbathing on my deck in the nude or mowing the grass topless.

It's human nature to be curious about other people, especially ones in your neighborhood. It makes them feel "safe" if they can sort of predict things, anything, about their neighbors.....it's not personal to you at all.
