why do we use the engine that was created almost a 100 years ago still? if ethanol is more efficient on the whole but not so with our engines why not change the engine?

Is it not dependable
Ethanol is NOT more efficient
Ethanol is NOT cheaper to purchse
Mr Wankel came up with an alternative
It is just a proven piece of equipment..
Ethanol is better for the farmer but costly to produce. They are working on making it cheaper but that is yet to come. Your engine will run on ethanol but the fuel system cant handle the alcohol produced it breake down the seals and parts in the system

ethanol is distilled from crops that use petroleum fertilizers and pesticides by the oil rig load, we would also have to convert many many farms in order to meet demand, it would be a shift in use, perhaps less pollution, but no less reliant on oil
