Well I was born and raised in Chicago, and I absolutely loved the City when I lived there, I loved the hustle and bustle, the crowds, the huge stores, the accessibility of everything. But now, I live in the suburbs and I love it even more. The quietness at night, the big open sky with no skyscrapers blocking my view, rows and rows of parking spots at the store (no more jammed up parking like in the city), I love the itty bitty DMV we have (No long lines), and everything is 5 minutes away. When I lived in the city I bought gas every 3 days and drove an average of 200 miles per day, in the suburbs I fill up once every two weeks and drive and average of 200 miles in two weeks. So by comparsion and contrast I love the suburbs or the country and I never want to live in the City again but I'm still 25 minutes away should I get homesick.

I am a country girl for sure, but not a redneck girl.
I lived in the sity for 5 years- cured me of wanting THAT ever again...
I have 3 acres in the country, 2 houses, a truck, a car, 4 cats and a dog. I have as much privacy as I could ever want.
I live about 8 miles out of town and off any main paved roads- I don't have to worry about my kitties getting run over or my dog being hit by a car.
We hear sirens so seldom that we can't really tell the difference between a fire truck, police, or ambulance. Besides, when the Sheriff pulls up in the front yard, it's usually because they need directions to find somebody's house.
Besides, shoot skeet in your backyard in the country and nobody bats an eye, but in the city, they would call the SWAT team on you.
I took my truck apart in my front yard and no Homeowner's Association ever told me I couldn't fix vehicles in my front yard.
Lots of advantages to living in the country- but it takes self-sufficiency to live well out here.
My favorite stores are Tractor Supply Co. (sells farm equipment and homestead supplies) and good Ol' Wal-Mart.
I don't mind going to a big city, maybe even staying a night or two in a motel or hotel, but that's about as long as I can stand it.
And when I go into town, I can leave my front door wide open, with just the screen door shut and nobody goes in my house.
I only roll up the windows on my truck at night to keep the rain from getting the seats wet. And about the only time I lock my truck in the front yard is when there is an escaped convict on the loose from the nearby prison.
But that's just me- I have always loved the country.

I am a city girl, too. The country is great to get away to. I would not want to live there all the time. Now if I could live in the country and still be close to a city, that would be the best of both worlds.

i am from new jersey i moved from there to SC. I would like the city but i like it here too. But i like the city better because there is more things to do. I do like the country becasue the people are nice but slow but i am kinda lucky bc i only live 30 minutes away from the city so i can go to the city any time i want to. I can come back to the country life when i am done in the city.
You might get used to it. It took me awile to get used to the county life style.
I still like going back to my home state and town though because i still miss it but it does help to visit my old state and town.
well good luck hope everything works out the way you want it too.

I'm a city girl, too but the thought of the country sounds so tranquil and peaceful. To make this decision, I would have to experience the laid-back lifestyle first.

For long walks and fresh night air...I prefer the country...but country folk are far less open minded than city people...For night life and fine dining I prefer the city...living in between has suited me well.
