Wow! I live in a 6 room Cape in the North East-I have 3 bedrooms and only one bath and attached 2 car garage on a little over a 1/4 acre of land.

I have built a new one (yes, I built it) When I was younger, I framed houses for a living. This new one is ridicules! I have built a chimerical warehouse that is 120' x 120' (14,000+ sq ft)
I have put basements in all four corners and one in the middle, the rest is on a slab. The roof line is 45' high, I have put in nine separate second floor areas. The home has first and second floor wrap around porches. (the kids are already kicking it on the scooters) This sits in the middle of 165 acres (mostly wooded) that cant be seen from any of the roads.

2900 square feet in living area, carport 1400 sq. feet,, 3 bedrooms 2 baths, kitchen, big den, living room, kitchen, and a dining room, a large walk in closet, plus 5 more closets, and a mud room. When I have to clean, I think, it's to big. Also a 2 car garage.

I HAVE A BIG HOUSE IN A RURAL COMMUNITY. ON THE TOP FLOOR I HAVE FOUR BEDROOMS AND A BATHROOM. ON THE MAIN FLOOR IS THE KITCHEN, DININGROOM, LIVINGROOM, A SUNROOM WHERE I HAVE MY COMPUTER SET UP, AND AN ENTRY WAY. IN MY BASEMENT I HAVE A STUDIO APARTMENT WHICH WAS GREAT FOR MY TEENAGE KIDS. THERES A MAIN ROOM, A BATHROOM AND A KITCHEN. I WOULD SAY THIS IS A PRETTY BIG HOUSE AND A LONELY ONE WITH JUST ONE CHILD LEFT AT HOME.
