Are neodymium magnets any good?

heard the hype but will they attract a two penny piece from about a foot?

Neodymium magnets maybe good for use in low power devices such as miniature loudspeakers/headphones, but I don't think they be much good where higher power outputs are required.

are 2 penny pieces magnetic?, guess it depends on the actual strength of the magnet, not sure anyone can answer this without trying.
