Was the Ship of Fools an actual historical event?

Question

A former roommate told me that there was a ship of Jews that sailed from Germany to the U.S., and when it got to the U.S. it was turned away. Also, all other countries turned it away. It returned to germany only to have all of the passengers executed. Did something like this really happen?

yes it unfortunatly did..but for the life of me I cant dig up the name....sounds like a google search to me!
