I love Deep Purple especially Smoke On The Water, My Woman From Tokyo, Space Truckin and a lot more. I'm older than you so I was listening to them shortly after high school.

I was one, but only for the first 4 LP's,
after that i found progressive music
where music became more creative
rather than repetitious boring fast riffs.
I was spoiled by the likes of real composers,
ie; Witold Lutoslawski, Bela Bartok,
Dmitri Shostakovich, Toru Takemitsu, etc
So after the first 4 Deep Purple LP's i didn't
find anything creative in their style, except
Ritchie Blackmore was fast & thats it.

I love Deep Purple and listened to "Who Do We Think We Are?"(My personal favorite) just last night.

do them old bands really have fans after they've broken up i mean i like some of their songs but i don't think they're together anymore so there's nothing really to be fans of. it's not like you can go see them in concert.
