...that you were getting older?
I'm a fitness buff, but I'm not naive enough to think I'm not getting older.
I LOVE softball, but if I don't warm up an stretch properly, especially my legs, my knee will hurt for weeks. Until a couple of years ago, I could just jump up and play.
Last summer was bad...I pulled a quad, tore a hamstring, and had to wear a knee brace. Took me about 6 months of self rehabilitation to get to where things are about 90%.
What does your body do/feel like to let you know you're not a young'un anymore?

well, I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted and do very little exercise without gaining a pound. Not any more. I have to work hard to keep this body... COL....
I used to be able to stay out all night and get up early and not feel any ill effects. I just can't keep up anymore....
I used to be able to do flips, backbends, splits, etc.... I haven't tried, and don't think I could even if I did.

I broke my big toe a couple of years ago, and the Doc said there was nothing to do about a broken big toe. Now I have Arthritis in my big toe. A few years ago, I had emergency surgery for blood clots in my legs that were caused solely by the use of Birth Control Pills. I will live with this condition until I die. And last but not least...a few months ago I fell off a ladder at work and after having a Nerve Conduction test, I was told that I have Arthritis in my lower back, and beginning signs of Fibromyalgia. Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia run in my family, so I guess I have all that to look forward to as I age.

I can't stay awake like I used to. I remember in college, I wouldn't go to bed until 4 or 5 and get up for an 8:00 class without any problem. Now it seems like if I go to bed past midnight I have problems getting up in the morning. I guess you could say I don't have the stamina for all that anymore. I don't consider myself old. I am only 31 and I am a kid at heart. I enjoy the simple things in life. I just don't want to see myself eating the Early Bird Special for dinner at 4:00 in the afternoon and going to bed at 8:30, like half of my friends already do now.

I had to get reading glasses when I turned 40- I try to exercise regularly and stay in shape. I have two kids aged 8 and 4 so they keep me motivated to stay in good shape so I can keep up. It seems that my biggest battle is making time for the gym.

I'm only 24, but because I had three kids back to back, I can honestly say that gravity is a motha!
Basically, you know you're not young anymore when everything goes south. This applies to both men and women!

I recently turned thirty and stayed up all night drinking. The next morning my body told me I was defiantly too old for that! Not to mention that I can't "suck it in" anymore... what the deuce is that all about? Oh yeah and I keep saving for retirement, instead of buying handbags.
