It really does not matter which brand you use. IT is usually advisable, for home use, to get the same brand of wireless router and wireless network card. It just makes ensuring the connectivity picks up easier. It also makes putting in the security needed for home use much easier.

The biggest factor is which standard you are using, 802.11a, 802.11b, or 802.11g. If you don't know, you are probably using or want to use g. g is compatible with b.

If you need to buy both the router and card, for the best compatibility, buy a card and router that are from the same company. If all you need is a router, you should be able to use any router.

Yes, Don't buy one of those cheap ones from Frys. Get a three
wire it has built in antennas. Cost about $125.00. You will also
need to purchase a network card for each additional
computer. They cost around $50.00.

kind of, your comp that has the wireless NIC in it should be like 802.11/g and you have to make sure that your router is the same. if your not sure take your wireless NIC out (if on a desktop) and it will say on there and your router's manual should have all that stuff in there
