Amazing how when his approval ratings are low, all he does is make a few phone calls to OPEC and then maybe he'll gain a few points from disgruntled conservatives.........
I wish we could oust the whole kitncaboodle and start over with nicer government that was on people's side 90/10, instead of 90/10 on business side.

Actually, it's the market dummy. Last month OPEC or some other oil people released a report that the worlds oil reserves are much larger than previously estimated. In addition to that, the lack of damaging hurricanes in the gulf region, the end of the summer driving season(less demand) and conservation efforts by the citizens of the United States over the past year have all contributed to lower prices at the pumps. But, if you want to continue being an immature, Bush basher, then by God, it is his fault.
On an upnote, Opec and other oil producing nations are considering a bottom price per barrel at around 60-65 dollars a barrel. Meaning regardless of how much reserves there are, or how much production increases , prices may never go back to below two dollars a gallon. That will be Bushes fault also, unless we win in Iraq and have some influence over their oil production and get them into a position in OPEC. Is this getting too confusing for your little liberal brain. I thought the situation might be too complicated, and I really don't have the time to educate you on the way the real world works, but hey, thats Bushes faul also isn't it? Try thinking outside the box of liberalism. We are a part of a huge world competing for the necessities of life. struggling to maintain our existance, and all you liberals do is point fingers at everyone else, instead of looking at the big picture. Grow up.

I think no matter what a president does he will be criticized. From no on there will be no more great presidents because people ***** to much. People like you are the reason why. A couple months ago you were bitching because gas prices are too high and ill bet that you blamed George Bush and now they are dropping and here you are blaming Bush. So who is the hypocrite?

I'm a liberal, but I don't blame Bush for high gas prices - but nor do I credit him for falling prices.

The rise in prices was largely driven by short-term commodity speculation. It now seems that there isn't going to be any immediate embargo of Iran, and so the speculators are dumping their purchases as the prices drop.

Of course, in the long run (10-20 years), there will still be massive increases in price as the demand from China and India ramps up and supplies level off or diminish. I just hope we have the foresight to start planning now for what is clearly inevitable.

It's the market correcting itself.

EVERY year, before the end of the Summer and the beginning of the Fall, gas prices drop due to a decrease in demand, which causes the price of oil per barrell to go down. We don't go out of town as much, the weather may not be as good so we stay home more.

Now, as to whether it is the President's fault...c'mon...that sounds like a little paranoia. I don't think he's evil, and I don't understand the reasoning behind thinking he is. I didn't like Clinton as president, but I never thought he was evil. I don't like the direction Democrats propose going, but I don't think any of them are evil.

If anyone could control prices, no business would ever fail. Prices are a function of supply and demand. The prices are dropping because the refiners bid too high on oil futures for this time of year. At the same time, we are switching back to less costly "winter gas" (switched on 9/15) and a major gasoline pipeline is scheduled to come back on line in October - it's a buyers market.

No - he isn't that smart. What makes me mad is that the gas prices went up in the first place and our "representatives" in government did nothing. Gas prices DOUBLED in a year and a half. Unchecked price gouging and lack of enforcement of anti-trust laws is wrong and the Republicans need to be held accountable for it. The Democrats tried to get our laws enforced but they were blocked by the majority. Bush did nothing.

NO. Mr Bush is just like you and I except I don't see a conspiracy under every "bush". Ask Teddy Kennedy about how this economy got in the shape it's in. Give-a-ways cost ALL of us! In fact I would love to see the Dem's take control in Nov. and see how they will fix the Social Security and welfare problems....THEY caused

This is just a hunch. I was thinking when they found that new oil field (in New Mexico?) that prices would drop and they are. It's supposed to be bigger than Alaska's, but I don't have much info.
... Oh...and bush =(

Lol..when the prices were high,it was all his fault. Now that the prices have dropped it is his fault too?Why does everything have to be a conspiracy with you people? Can't you just be glad that the prices have come down?Gas prices have no influence on who I vote for, there are far more important issues to worry about.
