ahh so I didn't misuse it. Where does a word like that come from anyways? doesn't sound like cricket to me...

"Kudos" is actually a Greek word meaning something like "magical glory." Language geeks like me feel the need to point out that it's not the plural of "kudo" and shouldn't be used as such. Super language geeks show off their stuff by pronouncing it with a sibilant "s" sound (the hissy kind) as opposed to a z sound.
