OK, so on day 26 I took a First Response test with negative results, well its too soon to tell I thought, so again I tried on day 31 in the afternoon, again negative. well possibly its because I drank too much water! My breasts have been super tender for two weeks and my right nipple has a sharp shooting pain running through it, I must be pregnant. Day 32 First thing in the morning First Response ... Negative. NOT PREGNANT I thought. Today is now Day 36 since the first day of my last period I bought a pack of 3 ept tests last night, Used one first thing this morning and there is a faint but definite line + So My question is if it is just showing up now, could I be pregnant and if it is faint at this late stage could there be something wrong with it??? Has anyone had a similar experience or has dealt with this in the medical field???

i tend to go nearly 40+ days sometimes in between periods. Back in May i became pregnant by suprise and i was convinced there was no way i was pregnant...so i never thought to take a test. On day 50, I was rummaging thru the cabinet and found a test...so i figured hey what the heck. I ended up getting a very faint positive line. When I went to the Dr. the next day, he said yep, you're pregnant, but i'm worried because your HCG levels are low (hence why the line barely showed up). He said at this point in the game 50+ days...it should be higher. I ended up miscarrying a week later. I was convinced that i was pregnant this month, but then my period FINALLY came--on day 49. I just started taking clomid yesterday. sometimes when you have long cycles, the egg is no good by the time it gets fertized...hence why HCG levels aren't rising like they should. They go up enough to get a positive reading...but just don't double like they should. Please don't be discouraged by my situation...everyone is different. Just thought i'd share with you in case you, too, have long cycles sometimes. Good luck.

If you got a positive, even the faintest positive means you're pregnant as long as you read the test within the time suggested on the test instructions. Some women take longer to build up the HCG hormone which detects pregnancy. It doesn't mean anything is wrong.

I would take another test just to make sure, but you're most likely pregnant. A false positive is almost impossible while false negatives happen all the time!

Did you know that the stress of trying to have a baby is also a prevention for getting one? Also, changes in the hormone balance can do the same.
If you have missed a period and tested 36 days later then you probably are not however if you haven't missed a period you can't get an accurate reading until 9 days after your first missed period.
If you have done the 9 days after first period seek a doctors help to determine the problem. AND RELAX and enjoy sex .... This isn't an exam.

You can get a false negative but you can't get a false positive, so congratulations! It took two weeks after my period was due for it to show up positive on a pregnancy test. It's only faint because you are only just pregnant, try again in a couple of days and it will be darker.

I had 3 faint lines one time and I wasn't pregnant. So be careful take a pregnancy test in 3 days , if the line is still faint or neg. you are not pregnant. Positive is pregnant. real faint lines that are questionable are sometimes a sad fact of a evaporation line. try this web site it is really cool and shows faint line neg and faint line positives

If you have a faint line then you have a raised level of HCG so you should be pregnant - get to your gp for a blood test instead they can measure the hcg level in your blood and this will tell them how far on you actually are. so long as your not in pain I wouldnt panic and think thiers something wrong though. good luck.

I think you're pregnant. Every day the level of pregnancy hormone rises, so before you didn't have enough, now it's on the level when it can be seen on the test.
