September 17, 2006: Bears home color jerseys are normally dark blue (alternative orange). Why are they wearing white (away)color jerseys at a home game, in Chicago today against Detroit?

Teams actually have to notify the NFL weeks in advance of what jerseys they are going to wear at home (White or team-color). The Bears chose the White for this game because its being played in late summer, and heat might have been a factor. Dark-colored jerseys are hotter than light-colored jerseys. Probably doesn't make much of a difference, but teams try to get any advantage they can. You'll see a lot of teams in hotter climates wear their road whites at home early in the season when temperatures are higher.

Um... David? Away jerseys are almost always the white ones.

Bears home jerseys are dark blue.

Home team gets the choice of jersey, so I don't know why the Bears would have gone with the whites today??

I dont care what color they are wearing today. They kicked a$$ and it was a sweet game. Maybe they wore white since the lions wear blue.
