He is.
People with elevate blood pressure should never ever dink caffienatred coff or tea. Also, having something to act a s a diuretuic uis advisbale according to books i;ve read. Mediactions which MDs prescribe for high blkood pressure which are diurhettic in nature also deplate the body of necessary minerals, so I;ve discovered that chewing twoice daily on a significant amount of clelery seeds each day does wonders. It';s an herbal answer.

I'm thinking the current reccomendation is eight..eight ounce glasses of water. I think it's excessive. If you really want to know..google it. I'll I can tell you...and this is just for me...if I drank that much water I'd have to live in the bathroom..no joke. I think 24 ounces a day is fine...preferably...if you're like me...don't drink alot of fluid about three hour before bedtime. You'll rest better...and you'll be healthy and fine. Oh...I forgot..neither you or your Dad are crazy. Another thing to consider...is how phisically active you are. If you're really involved in serious physical activity..you'll sweat more...thus lose water..I wouldn't worry about this too much..just check it out. Make sure you don't get majoy sales crud from bottled water companies...I'd suggest a respected Medical Journal. Good luck.

You are. I don't believe that crap about 8 glasses of water a day. I have high blood pressure and am on water pills too. I try to drink more water, but 8 glasses of water would make me so bloated. I didn't even drink that much when I worked in a steel foundry working with 3000 degree heat while on a diuretic.
When they say 8 glasses of water a day, they mean, 8 glasses of FLUID a day. That means milk, orange juice, anything liquid you consume in that day. Even coffee(even though its a diuretic)
And for those who drink 8 glasses for weight loss, I lost 80 pounds by just drinking when I'm thirsty. But, its probably a good idea to drink more water than not. You don't want to get kidney stones later in life.

I think that's great that you were able to give up caffine. Try to drink your eight glasses of water throughout the day to hydrate your body.
Just because somebody doesn't understand something, doesn't make them crazy. Trying to help explain to somebody else and being unable to convey an idea or information, can cause the presenter to go "crazy" for a few minutes or the one who can't understand.
Take it easy on each other.
Again, congratulations, on your change to improve your health.

His size will be a factor in this. If he is a big man, he needs more water and other fluids than that. If he likes his soda, he needs to stop that as well. Basically stop all beverages that has sodium in them. Good Luck with this!
