The microwave oven will not affect your sound.

A boom box makes sound waves, while a microwave oven makes optical waves.

Light and air do not disturb each other, which is why air remains "invisible" to you and you can see things through the air.

NO, the boom box is not microwave oriented. Personally, I'd put the boom box on the counter.
