I believe that it is inappropriate, and other women may see it that way. There are lots of other things you could say instead, like sweet one, or Miss _____ whatever her name is, that display your non sexual affection.

Not when they know you're married. However if it's really casual some people can pull it off. I call my hot teachers all kinds of things. "sweetcakes" "cutie pie" "muffin" "my bon bon" It works cause i'm about a foot taller then them anyhow.

Babycakes are the snot little children secrete ... so I would say it is not only offensive but also disgusting

yeah it is wrong 2 let someone called u babe or baby cakes at work if it was ur husband then okay but if it is a co-worker then it is not okay and u should tell him that and that u dont like it or u be will telling ur husband on him.

It always depends on the girl. Depends on how she takes things. I for example do call my best friend "baby", "baby girl", or other surnames, she has no negative affection towards it. She knows I tell her that because I love her as my best friend, and not sexually.

i don't see anything wrong with it, as long as it's absolutely a casual conversation and not at work. besides, they're your female friends, you should be comfortable around them and they to you as well. o may i add that they should know your wife and your wife is comfortable with it too...

It really depends on who it is and if your wife understands that it isn't meant in the wrong way!! I personally don't see anything wrong with it!!!

context is everything , if this is in a friendship kind of way ,,ok . but if it is in a way to shock someone then it is offensive
