rerecord it unless it is a dat(digital audio tape) there are many shop the rerecord stuff off all type of media into about any media that you want but it take some special equipment

1. Find a good cassette player with an output jack or headphone jack.

2. Get a cable (Radio Shack?) that goes from the output above to your computer's input jack (usually on back near the speaker jacks). This is USUALLY a 1/8" male to male stereo patch cord.

3. Find the software you wanna use. Windows can do it by itself, by a quick search shows a lot of shareware programs that will let you record an entire cassette, automatically find the breaks between the songs, help do the labelling, etc.

4. Following the software directions, start playing the music on the tape, and recording it on the computer. Many of the programs will auto-detect the music and start on their own.

5. Using the software- clean things up and store it in the desired format. I usually use around 100bps- tapes are not usually a super clean format deserving of a higher rate.
