chap stick actually has alcohol in it and will further dry out your lips making it so that you must continually use it.

try vasoline or something organic that doesn't have a bunch of chemicals in it.

olive oil works too

I think your lips are just dry. You should carry chap stick with you through out the day. There are even chap sticks that specialize with extra dry lips. Using it through out the day will help them become more moisturized.

maybe you are allergic to certain chemicals in the lipstick or maybe just dry. You might want to put a little lip gloss (any kind) over the lip stick color to moisturise the lip through out the day. You should also try over night lip balm when you go to sleep. You can buy from drug stores. (sorry i forgot the brand names but it has purple cap and its more like gel in the tube)
For your lip sticks, "origins" or "body shop"" brand. they claim that they use some natural ingredients. You should ask for a little sample to test them out first. Or you just have to try different brand of lip sticks to find out which one works better for you!

Next time rub some Vaseline on those lips. Sounds like your lips are dry. That chapstick not strong enough there is also Carmex.

The chapstick may actually be drying them out. If I use lipstick or chapstick mine chap but if I leave them alone they are fine.

see how your lips feel WITHOUT using anything on them. it sounds like what your describing is plaque...no offense...i get that sometimes too though. my best advice is to brush your teeth well before bed, rinsing your mouth just as well..and try this :
take a facecloth and dampen it with warm water.
use the cloth to exfoliate all the dead skin off your lips before you sleep.

hope this helps =)
