As long as you work for Disney or Universal, it would be completely impossible to get a role as an extra in a movie.

Casting Companies hire the actors and extras. Because you already work for the company, you are exempt from casting companies hiring you--unless you quit!

I've been behind the scenes at WDW for 24 years.

People who work for Disney rarely have a heads up on when something is brewing for TV or other filming. By the time Disney cast members (employees) hear about it, the casting part is already done.

Your absolute best bet is to put in your name at a casting agency and be ready to prove you are better than thousands of others that want the exact same thing you do.

No, not really. You'd most likely fall into a breach of contract with Disney because even though the commercial or film may be for Disney, it is a seperate crew/company that would hire you.

You might be privy to auditions or cattle calls for extras. The easiest way would be to sign up with a casting agency as an extra. (They don't give preference if you work for Disney.)

The down side would be that you'd have to take time off from work to do the shoot, and your employer might not take too kindly to that.
