This is a tough one, drugs are metabilised in the body by the liver, so, if the person had just taken drugs then that drug would be in the donated blood. As this blood is no longer being filtered by the liver in theory anyone who recieved this blood would then receive the drug. However, no drug is permanenty potent, having what is known as a half life, so would the potency of the drug diminish with time?

Yes.
> would they become high
A little bit. Remember, the amount of blood donated by one user is only a pint, so the recipient is not going to get a big dose.

Donated blood is tested before its given, but I dint know what it is tested for, apart from Hepatitis, HIV, etc.
It may be that the drug effects would have worn off before transfusion. Donated blood is kept in a fridge, so I would imagine there would be no problems.

They could experience a high for a short while, but probably not. They would test positive for the drug for some time. Good luck

I don't know but it is a probability. That is one of the reasons why blood is screened.
However, giving blood is one of the best gifts you can give, I would have died without a blood transfusion after a serious accident several years ago.

I doubt it because it doesn't stay in your blood. It will come out after a while. But it does stay in your muscles so if someone gave YOU blood, it wouldn't necessarily do you any good. Becasue the drugs will have already taken their toll on your muscles and brain.

I think this is a great question and I think this is why they do screen blood. I do feel the person would have drugs in thier system. Thanks and God Bless you!

it's very possible that whatever the donor was taking would affect the recipient. This is exactly why they screen blood donors!

Yeah, the drugs would probably be in their system, and could possibly mess it up.
