I'm working on a story and I need help. I need the name of this rope trap: You tie the rope to a strong tree branch and make a knot (Need knot name too) to make a loop. It's often used to catch rabbits in the forest and stuff, and when your feet gets caught in the loop, you or the animal get catapulted upwards. Your feet is stuck in the loop, and you're hanging upside down...

If you don't understand my description, just imagine it in your head. I really need to know this name for my description. The type of knot used would also be useful. If anyone knows, please answer! It's not too urgent, but I need to know.

Also, I chose hobbies and crafts since some people actually study knots and things like this as a hobby... They should really have a miscellaneous category >_>

Thanks in advance to anyone who answers. :)

I think it might be a snare trap. I am not 100% sure though. You should ask a boy scout, they should know what it is called.
