I used to play fantasy sports a few years ago. It just got old, though. After awhile, all the stats and players look the same, and it's a pain to keep checking your team's status every day. Plus, owning a team means that you have to root for your fantasy players in real life, and this may conflict with your real favorite teams.

Maybe they don't feel like it. I, for one, didn't get interested until now.
Shouldn't your question be "Why AREN'T other people not joining fantasy leagues" since the word "people" is considered plural, not singluar?
