I work in a call center, and take insurance claims for car accidents. The people who call are so crazy, and most yell at you because their insurance company isn't open on a sunday and they can't pay their premium right then because their insurance will be cancelled that day. Why are people so stupid? Why do they wait until the very last day to pay and try to pay when it's obvious that no one will be there? Why?

Is the question more about why are people irresponsible for their own behavior (as in the case of wait till the last day and not willing to take the consequence) ? more about why are people so rude in addition to being irresponsible (to yell at the good people at the call center) ?
I have no answer for you, but hope that you do not take the yelling personally. We live in a world where civility just is not valued and irresponsible behavior not curbed in the highest level of community leaders.

Have u ever been late on a payment for anything? Situations arise that sometime cannot be avoided. However, that is no excuse for the abuse that you are subjected to. Unfortunately, that's an unpaid part of the job that u deal with. I work in a hospital and I deal w/ rude people all the time. I can deal w/ the sick patients and their family members but, I refuse to deal with physicians, nurses and other staff attitudes. As long as I don't have to deal w/ so called co-workers attitudes, I 'm good.

Some people are irresponsible. When they get themselves in a mess for not doing what they should have done, they want to blame someone else. These people know that they are at fault for not doing what they should have done; then they think they can get the problem corrected by claiming someone is responsible. The person at the point of contact is usually the one
they try to blame.

They aren't as stupid as you think.They wait to pay stupid
thngs like car insurance last.First they buy food,pay water bills,
pay electric bills,pay the mortgage so they have a roof over
their heads,then gas bills and buy clothes so they don't freeze
to death.Then,if anything's left,they pay some damn insurance
company to pay for something that they probably don't need
anyway.

They are not stupid. They just forgot. They spent the whole weekend having a good time and forgot about the important stuff. On Sunday, we begin to contemplate the hectic work week ahead and realize that we forgot to pay the damn bills!

People are not really stupid, they are just careless. Time gets awy from all of us some days. Your job is not to judge all people by a few peoples actions. Some people are actually so busy that they forget what day it is! Be kind and you will be blessed.

I understand your pain, I used to work in an insurance call center also and would get the wackos. People would threaten us if we wouldn't reinstate their policy. Get over it and find new insurance!!

Hey... you don't know them. They're lives could suck majorly, and for some people coping is really hard. Try to be patient with them... you sound like a well off person. What if you were in their place?

Because people are just........well........stupid. Also, people are lazy and what to the last moment to do things just like when I was in college and did assignments in groups. I almost had to strangle a few of my classmates.
