I'd like to teach foreign language in middle/high school. What types of degrees should I pursue, and what colleges have the best programs?

This sounds like it would be a lot of fun!

THere are MANY schools where you could go to prepare. In nearly every state there is a big state university where they would teach Spanish, French and other languages. And at the same time you could do all the courses to get your teaching certificate.

I dont think there would be any advantage at all to going to an expensive private school and running up big school loan debts if you want to go to Middle School to teach. Those schools are not oriented toward this career area.

While you are in college, you can take a year to go abroad and study in Mexico, Spain, Canada, Italy or some other country where they speak the languages you are interested in.

This really could be a lot of fun. You will have a good career and make a decent living. Go for it!!!!
