I will give one compromise. The issue of counting slaves for purposes of representation and taxes was difficult to resolve. They agreed to count them as 3/5 for both purposes. This gave the South less power in the House, but they paid lower taxes. Was it fair? Well, slavery wasn't dealt with over fairness, it was the beginning of compromises that worked for a while, and eventually failed.

The Articles did not give larger states a great enough voice in government. Each state had one vote. It did not provide for commerce between the states. It did not provide executive and judical authority, except to Congress.
