it,s tricky and initaly expensive in preparing.you will need a outlay of a very good heating stove tha best stovepipes avalable and build what is called an eight brick chimney, an eight brick chimney is twice the capacity os an six brick chimney, or flue as they are sometimes called. also buying the wood can sometimes be expensive and troublesome, it is a lot of work storing your fuel and.the house tempature will vary greatly at the best you can do, however i would recomend it if you are able bodied.in the long run i think it is best

I heat my home with wood. I have a furnace also to even the temp. but it runs once a day at about 4:00 am I live in an area where wood is readily available.
