My "best friend" is nice sometimes. she is sick and went to the hospital. I had plans to go to a play with my mom but said I could visit and then had to leave at a certain time. she got mad and said no don't bother whatever. then she hung up and wouldn't pick up her phone. i went to the hospital, found her room, and brought her flowers. She didn't even say thanks or sorry. when I had to dump my boyfriend because he cheated I was really upset for a week and she kept yelling at me telling me to get over it and now her bf dumped her and she's been sulking for two months and gets mad when I tell her to move on. I'm in college now and she is still in H.S. and she only talks to me when she's upset or needs something. Is she really a good friend?

to be honest, i know what position youre in, i was for a long time.
she might be a good friend in certain ways, but is it really worth it?
as a best friend she should show some respect.
you have enough time ahead of you
and there are tons of people who can be better friends that her, as cruel as it sounds.

you can still be great friends, but everyone deserves a best friend that is the way a bestie should be.

It is really important that you tell her why she is upsetting you. Do not let it pile up. I had a best friend for 6 years and I was always getting her out of trouble and the one time I asked her for help she didn't make an effort to help me. I feel having a best friend is like having a relationship it takes communication and respect.

I confronted my friend and she became very defensive and insulting. Unfortunately we are no longer friends but I can say I learned alot from all of it.

Also there are two sides to every story maybe there are things you have done to her that she has not mentioned to you.

What do I do if your best friend is a biotch? - Get a new one.

If she's treating you worse than you'd treat one of your friends then you've gotta ask yourself some serious questions about what constitutes a friend, especially a best friend.

But if she's ill, than she's under unusual stress and will be unusually irritable. If she is ill, then it may be just temporary behaviour. What you need to ask yourself is how does she behave normally?

It sounds like both of you expect much more from your friendship than you're willing to give.

Maybe you should back off for a while and see if you miss each other. If not...you were both using each other....and that's OK. Some friendships are only meant to be for a short period of time.

Sounds like a one-way relationship. A poor acquaintance? Yes. Friend? Not even close.

People sometimes get a little bitter when they have to spend time in the hospital. (Trust me, I drove my wife nuts for a while)
I got over it, she probably will too. If not, you don't need anyone dragging you down.

You asked the question - you know the answer to this one yourself. Re-read your question - now, do you really think this is what a "friend" does and/or act toward another friend?

You know she isn`t. Get rid of her, she sounds really selfish, and full of her own importance. She dosen`t seem to care about you at all, ditch her hun, now!!!

When they are in hospitals, people act weard. Maybe she didn`t know what she was saying and will regret it later.
