Webster's defines fascism as: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Is that really representative of the radical Islamist movement? What central government or nation do they fight for?
Is the use of the term fascist by the right's talking heads intended to relate the war in Iraq to WWII or to disguise the attempts made by this administration to emulate this philosophy (centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition)?

The definition you gave accurately describes the Taliban in Afghanistan and the general philosophy of Osama bin Ladan. It also accurately describes the government of Iran - it is a theocracy and the economy is centrally controlled. I think adding that as a qualifier was meant to signify that our beef is with a particular faction of Islam, not the mainstream. Just as people in U.S. add qualifiers onto Christian so as to distinguish from the mainstream. I personally don't like to think of ths was a war, since the people we are fighting are more like criminals that warriors.

what the radical islamists want is for the whole world to be under their totally absurd form of gov't: an islamic theocracy.
if you think that the facists in the WWII era were bad, they make these nuts look like a sunday school picnic. or the christian concept of heaven.
i find nothing in these Islamofacists ideas worth the time it takes to fart. in fact a really good passing of the wind smells a lot better.

if i had to rank types of gov'ts, i would place islamofacism below whale poop and whale poop lies at the bottom of the ocean.

and yes, i think ISLAMOFACISM is a perfectly acceptable word to use. it describes exactly who and what these sheeeets are.

To Islamics there is no separation between their government and their religion. The Koran is the central government that they are fighting for.

Your definition of Facist defined how most countries in the middle east are. Radical Islam is not cummionism, not sicialist, surely not capitalist, a bit beyond authoritarian. so facist is about right- or are we not calling dictators facist any long.

For the most part it's an ignorant term, although some might argue that it could apply to iran.

Fascist is a term use liberally in Q&A. usually you can take it to mean a dictator, however sometimes it appears it is used as profanity. In this case it probably is the latter; Islamic obcenities,obcenities.obcenities.
