I belive that the connection is football hooligans, it's well documented (apparently ) that during the 80's the hooligan fans of the two teams met up to cause trouble. I know that chelsea fans were known as either ICF (inter city firm) or CHH Chelsea Head hunters. I do not know what the rangers fans(hooligans were called).
