I've been trying to become a model for many years. I have been to many auditions like Powers and Paul Mitchell to name a few. I was even chosen. Never once turned down. Thats my dream. I have no other goals that I am set on. I go to school, but keep changing my major. Not really interested in anything but modeling and fashion. Anyone with any advice. Its kind of hard because of the area I am from. I will have to leave town in order to be seen. But I have no cash. Any suggestions.

Don't give up! BUT, facts are facts and in order to be a top model like Tyra, Naomi, etc, you do have to meet certain requirements like height and weight. You didn't say where you were on that. You can still do modeling even if you're not the required height or weight to be a top model. You may just have to start small....do local runway and fashion shows and work your way up. If Top Model has auditions close to your town, by all means, go for it!

It's a very tough field to break into and there is a lot of competition and rejection involved. Go to a reputable agency and see if they would be willing to represent you. You will need a portfolio of professional picture, which are quite expensive. If they ask for money, walk away because that is not legitimate. My advice would be not to depend on making it in modeling but having something else to fall back on. Think about fashion merchandising or retail management.

If you REALLY want to be a model, but have to leave town, then that's what you have to do. I don't know what to tell you about the cash issue. Try to contact working models and see how they did it. Also, put up your pic for us. You're a model with no pics - first mistake.

If you were chosen by some agencies, why aren't you working?

Love, Jack

The modeling industry is very tough. If it is truely what you want to do, then you are going to have to work for it. get job. save your money. move to where you need to be to get "discovered". get another job to support yourself and pay for your living expenses. work your butt off. thats how it is done. Modeling is a very tough job. if you can't make yourself tough enough to do what it takes to get there, you will not have what it takes to actually do the modeling.

research to find out if the show is having auditions (open). If not, email me: klemarbe@yahoo.com. I could try to hook you up with my modeling agency and new york agent.
