The universe is believed to be non-ending. From one side of the universe(of What we know that exists) to the other side is about 20000+ light years. After that, who knows what exists?

The universe "starts" in the timeless and spaceless paradise. It goes on thru the central , the super , the local and the systems. It then goes on thru the lesser and lesser developed outer universes. Ad infinitum.

astronomers have detected star systems as far as about 13 billion light years from earth. the exact size of the universe is unknown otherwise. therefore your second question is moot.
a light year is the distance light travels in one earth year -- 186240 miles per second. you can do the math from here.

The universe is unending, there is no beginning and no end to it, and may I suggest that you don't try to understand "unending" their have been people in history who have tried and they went a little crazy
