I was also taught that everyone wears the watch on the left wrist.
I say wear it on whatever wrist feels best for you. Afterall, you are the one that benefits from wearing a watch so who cares if it is placed where society tells you to place it. You are the one that matters. What feels and works best for you, is all that matters.

I am not aware of a gender difference in this. I have always been under the impression that a watch is worn on the wrist opposite to the dominant hand. The reason being that you are less likely to damage the watch because it is on the less used wrist and therefore kept out of harms way.

Answerer #2 has got it all - except in cases where one is truly ambidextrous --- then I go with the guy who says a pocket watch.
I should get the 10 points for this one, don't ya think? bogus account maker? Especially since this is a wonderful 'feeder' question that you are utilizing to boost the numbers of your other bogus accounts?
PS - nice to see that Yahoo is finally 'suspending' some of your more obvious, abberant accounts. . . e.g. - your answer in the diabetes area, from yesterday (Sat 9/16)

there is no right or wrong side. if they are right handed, they wear the watch on the left hand to keep from bumping it etc, and if they are busy with their right hand they cant stop what they are doing to look at their watch, same for left hand, they wear it on there right.

There is no right & no wrong wrist. Whatever feels most practical & most comfortable.
Best option, wear one on both wrists, just to be sure; at least you could check the time!
