They burn and vandalise shops, busses and public property. They attack people whenever they get reported. Why have they become so anarchistic?

We are NOT all like that! There are a percentage of people who are vandalistic and are complete antisocial morons - but then there are others like me, my friends (not all of them, admittedly) and many others, who because of that few are targeted. The media, and the adult population focus on the bad side and so we get backlashed with it too.
Do you know what it's like to be followed around a shop - even when we're dressed nicely, and we're polite to the staff - to make sure we don't nick anything?!
People generalise too much! They say we stereotype the old, the sick, etc well, the young get generalised too!
And there has always been anarachy it's just particulary big today because there is so much media coverage, which really doesn't help it.
Why have they become so anarchistic? Well, I'll tell you, nearly every teenager who is "rebelious" is so because they come from a broken home, from fighting/divorced parents, poverty, abuse, or pressure from parents to achieve. Perhaps you're looking at the source of the problem being the kids (because that's all we are really) when actually it's the adults. Maybe that needs to be taken into account too.

It's the system and has been this way since the 60s. Most students found when they finished high school that there were no jobs. The thing to do was go from school to the welfare office and get on the 'dole'. The Rolling Stones even did a song about it.
So when you have a number of kids with no jobs and no future it can cause a lot of frustration. Frustration can lead to anger.

IMO, a) most teenagers are rebellious to some degree or another (some refuse to shower, others cut school, others burn things!)...and b) possibly because British culture is more strict/repressive/traditional (than say, the U.S). and London is the best, loudest, biggest place to let loose and be rebellious. If they really want to go nuts, they should head to L.A.!

I'm afraid its not just London its happening all over the country its because there is no discipline and kids are growing up alot quicker it's very sad
