I know they say its true but if it is, then how would Matt and Edge be able to work with each other like they did very shortly after?

The correct answer is that Matt and Lita (Amy Dumas) had a relationship for over five years. The relationship ended in late February 2005 after Hardy discovered that Dumas had cheated on him with the then-married Adam "Edge" Copeland, until then a close friend of Hardy's. In his anger he even broke kayfabe on national TV and called them both by their real-life names (although it's been said that by then he was over it and using it for the storyline). Edge's divorce was final in November,2005 and he and Lita are still together on and off-camera.
Matt is now dating his longtime friend Lori, Many believe he is dating the smackdown diva Ashley, but after a release of a DVD in which Hardy shoots an interview earlier this year, he states that he is in fact dating Lori and not Ashley. He's put the Edge/Lita affair behind him and is moving on with his life. He actually doesn't appear with/against Edge that much, but when he does he acts in a professional manner, as it is, after all, his job.

Fact of life kid, controversy SELLS. The only reason they hired Matt Hardy back was coz of the fans begging for it especially since Lita did in fact cheat on him. The company doesn't care whether you are uncomfortable with the situation. As long as it riles the fans up and sells to the audience they HAVE to do it. Unless they wanna lose their job. All three of them WERE uncomfortable with the situation but HAD to do it.
Lita and Matt are ok and friends now.
I don't know about Edge

Personally I think its true because Matt used his, Lita's, and Edge's real name and did not come unglued on Kane for impregnating her.
thats why Edge and Lita are on RAW and Matt Hardy is on Smackdown.

I thought matt and lita were together well before they signed to WWE. I heard they broke up years before edge and lita took centre stage.

hello, they had an on-screen feud to work out the frustration. but don't worry about it, they've both moved on. i heard adam (edge) is trying to work things out with his ex, that became a result of him screwing amy (lita). and matt is with ashley massaro. all better now.
