Daniel is right. Also they can change your password if your "Secret Question" is dumb. However the Mail System Administrator can always read your Email without any password, and can cooperate with the FBI if you were a dealer or something.

There are programs used by crackers to crack weak passwords. The stronger your password the better your chance of not being hacked. Many of the questions on here about Messenger and Email being hacked is due to them using weak passwords. Password like pet names, family member names, favorite singer or group names etc. are very easy for programs to crack.

As one of my friends sent me an email a week ago about hacking or simply retrieving someone's password. Therefore, anyone who can trace your yahoo id and passwrod would possibly have an access to read your emails. But so far I never experienced it on my own and I wouldn't want anybody do it to me coz they might violate the human privacy and rights.
