Should'nt Buddhist monks in their Shaolin temples and Buddhist-converts be honing their kung-fu for a showdown with Islamists? If Islam has the suicide bombers, Buddhism has kung-fu... i think that's a good match-up, dont you agree?

Actually Buddhists (along with Hindus and others) should be even more alarmed than Christians or Jews. Christians and Jews are at least recognized by Islam as being "people of the book" -- viz., people who also believe in the tradition of Abraham, Moses, et al., who recognize the prophets and worship Allah (albeit incorrectly), and are therefore worthy of at least the right of survival. Buddhists and others are considered simple idolators who face, more starkly than the Pope, the choice of "convert or die". The artwork that Buddhism is known for is deeply offensive to fundamentalist Islam. (You might recall the Taleban's destruction of the large Buddhist statues in Afghanistan?) If Buddhists worry about anything, this might be on the list.
Now, let's see if this response gets removed because it might be construed as slanderous of Islam, despite it being based on reading from the Koran itself.
(And those who seriously believe that Buddhists are never warlike should look into the Shaolin tradition and at the stance of Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka in today's civil war there, as their opinion is clearly uninformed.)

They can try me first...........there are about .00001% of Buddhists who convert to be Muslim because of their marriage status. We are not scared of them...so they can not convert us either by hook or sword as you said. By the way Kung-fu is not Buddhist....it is just an art of self defense. Your question is very tasteless without research. If people ask about your religion to be fighting with those suicide bombers...how do you feel? How many American and other died there and still not win them yet? Probably there are bunch of you around so the world never be in peace. Why don't you go to fight with them instead? Are you coward?

I think everyone has already torn you apart for your generalizations of Islam. So yeah. They're right.
Buddhists are pacifists. I don't think kung-fu is part of Buddhism, either. Buddhists are not going to fight Muslims.

I could be mistaken, but I believe kung-fu is a defensive activity, and intended to help in focusing the mind. Unless recently instituted, the use of firearms and bombs are not in the arsenal.

WOOOW hold on slow down buddy... Islam does not try to convert everybody... rather Islam shows you el sirarta mustakeem (the right path), and it is your responcibility to acknoledge, research, ask questions, open your heart. Geeez man why dont you think outside the box. I know what your problem is just like everyone else, you are a victim of media bias on Islam... you lack the common sense to realize for your self that is Islam is not all about violence and hatred, rather its about love and peach and living for the sake of God, not for the sake of the devil... Islam is the most sought out against, acutally a catholic woman who converted recently wanted to tell her story because she never thought that she will actually convert to Islam much like your self... but after she visited a muslim country, her heart opened up and she converted because she was astonished by all the love and peace she feels sinse then, she wanted to tell her story to the media, but no one would giver her the time of day because they said that she is promoting Islamic propaganda... thats a recent example like 2 days ago, how many more of that do you think there are, where the media shuts down the publics knowledge about Islam, instead creating a bad image.
Second I know where you get suicide bomobers from, the Palestinian and Isreali conflict right, okay when the U.S. grants Isreal 6 billion dollars a year for how many years now, how do you expect a culture to defend itself when they have no weapons and nothing do fight a war for they're lives?? the bombs im guessing are made with simple ingrediants and no it is not common cuz nobody wants to die like that, but see yet another point, there are people willing to die for they country, die for they're family, die for they're religion, for the sake of God... As you can see stones vs. 6 billion dollars of destrcution is not a battle, kind of like sucide bombing and kung-fu huh?? Palestinians are constantly under threat of violence, humilation, and constant harrasemet, until it gets to a point where you lose the last strand of patience and all self respect you have for your self, and that is my friend what sucide bombing is... I recccamend that you watch Paradise now which is about the subjuct i just spoke about, and you will be appauled by the results and this is an american movie made to tell the truth

Every religion wants converts-example-marrying someone of the same yoke < In the bible. I have HEARD this said on TV, and seen it posted (your claims of by hook or by sword) or by force, whatever. But could someone here please show me in the Quran where it says this? "forcing people to become Muslim" or words to that effect? Or maybe something in the Quran was misunderstood by someone to have this meaning. Thanks, I love to learn.

That's just propaganda. They aren't doing that. There are more Christians trying to convert people than there are Muslims. Christianity has been far more bloodier than Islam.

Please ask yourself a question. Where did I learn that Islam intends to convert everybody to their religion?. If your answer is the news media, t.v, or magazines, then shouldn't you look at who controls the media, t.v. magazines to see how they feel about Islam.
