my computer is messing up lately, and i don't really want to lose everything. i was thinking i could get a usb flash drive to back up my music, pictures, etc. is there a better alternative?

my computer is messing up lately, and i don't really want to lose everything. i was thinking i could get a usb flash drive to back up my music, pictures, etc. is there a better alternative?

i need to back up probably 5 or so gigs altogether.

dont burn to DVDs, if you have the money go out and buy a External Hard drive and put all your information on that, USB flash drives are sometimes to small to hold all your files and DVDs and CDs may sometimes can corrupt files when coping them (had this happen to me plenty of times) and they can be scratched, also the CD and DVD part that holds the data can scrach and flake off (Also had this happen) i would just suggest getting an external hard drive if you have the money

That depends on how much you want to back up...just burn it to a disk or buy external hard drive. a flash drive would work too. I have the external hard drive that I keep all of mine on.

a flash drive is probably the best choice as far a size but cd's are probably the cheapest option
