Focusing resources on checking people of all religious backgrounds and ethnicities so as not to offend muslims is a worthy but misguided strategy. If you waste time profiling groups not likely to commit terrorist acts just to be 'pc' , then it gives the real terrorists a better chance of slipping through the net since less attention will be focused on them
Katie does make a valid point in noting that eventually muslim extremists may try to recruit non asian/middle eastern types to throw people off the scent - however as things currently stand we should be using profiling based on previous attacks and current intelligence.

no, it's a step back in the history of this country. Do we not remember the racial profiling after the bombing of Pearl Harbor or the people being marked red during the communistic era?
I think profiling is just a lazy way for people to do their job. Half as.s.
If someone didn't do anything wrong, their reward is not being harassed by the government. It's not innocent citizen's fault that our government isn't trained enough to do their job.
Racial Profiling is only an excuse to do a half as.s job and it is NOT acceptable. We have laws in this country for a reason and if the government cannot do their job by gaining needed evidence to prosecute the bad guys, then they're not doing their job correctly and someone that can should be brought in.

yes and George bush Jr should be at the top of the page ,right under bin laden closely followed by tony Blair and every other politician and religious leader when the church of the people follows the government then you have a conflict of interest, on both sides of the fence.
you state not all Muslims are bad, i say to you not all Buddhist are bad, not all Hindus, Sikhs, Mormons, catholics,Protestants.
but it only takes one, and he may not be a follower of any religion.
we should not justify a terrorist by giving him the belief of a religion. he has committed a crime against humanity, do you know what religion Adolf Hitler was, no you don't care what faith he was he was a mass murderer, he was the ultimate terrorist.

No it isnt wrong, let me give you a example, if a white woman was raped by a Man in his late fortys, balck and whit pepper hair, wouldny every guy who looks like that be questioned. Before you answer no, yes it does, look at the media though to them it isnt a big thing, but when the topice of a racialy different person comes up they know people will be provcked whether good or bad. Profiling has been around for hundreds of years, what I have to say to you though is obviously you are one of these types who has never served a day of youre life in uniform so obviously you cant seem to wrap what is left of dope clouded hippie mind. These people dont wana love you man, they dont wana sit around and smoke the hoookha with yiou while we all listen to the grateful dead, you are pure evil to them because you are american and a westerner, and it wouldnt help if you convereted they wana kill you because you are a westerner and always will be. So........ what do you do with bullies, you put them in their place right, well guess who the bullies are right now ............yeap now you are thinking they are the terreorist

I think in a time of war where we are dealing with muslims that are attacking us it makes sense and I agree with it, but the terrororists are pretty smart, and I think that they will just start using other races for the attacks. Not all extreme muslims look muslim. Judging a book by its cover has always been a bad idea.

No, profiling is not wrong. If you haven't done anything bad, then you don't have to worry about it.
