I need to learn how to partition and format a hard disk, using Ms dos

DOS? DOS can't do much... 2GB partitions MAX. That means you'd have to make 250 partitions on a 500 GB disk - and you can't do that. Why don't you partition using Windows Setup Disks? It's much easier to use that.

You could use a 98 startup disk - that can make much larger partitions. In which case you use FDISK to partition and then format. But why would you use Windows 98 - it's old, antiquated, and not very good.

first dont forget to backup all your files before formatting after that you can format you pc is so easy use your windows cd and then restart you pc with the cd in it then boot from cd rom and follow the onscreen instruction
