do you not have anyone in your band that writes the lyrics? if not just simply do what you know of the cover versions.. People always love the songs they know already so you cant go wrong.. xx Hope this helps and good luck with the gig xxx

sry, but I think that your band needs to be able to write your own lyrics, that's one main thing that every band needs, somebody that is able to write some pretty good lyrics.
Write your own lyrics, don't get anybody's help that isn't in the band, I find that unfair otherwise
